Eros and Healing

An Introduction

by JOHN YATES
Original Paintings by Georgia O'Keefe

One hears a lot these days about sexual healing, which seems to have been given buzzword status in recent years.

Problem is, little of what I hear about or read on this subject seems real to me. It simply doesn’t ring true with what I have seen in my own life. Much of it is rather esoteric, combining aspects of Tantra with generic New Age healing beliefs. I suppose it is fair to say that I am not especially esoteric. Something seems missing to me in these approaches to sexual healing. What’s missing for me is the language of the heart.

This series consists of two poems and a prose piece that can be read as either fiction or a play. They reflect my own experiences in life, and the realities I have lived.
