THIS ISSUE
We
are
more
excited
about
the
March
2004
issue
than
any
other
before
it.
The
Divine
Animal
has
grown
at
an
extraordinary
rate
since
it’s
December
2003
debut.
During
the
month
of
February
we
had
over
40,000
hits.
This
is
more
than
double
the
approximately
20,000
hits
we
received
in
our
first
month
and
we
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
our
viewers
for
their
incredible
support.
Not
only
are
the
number
are
exciting,
but
every
month
the
quality
of
what
we
offer
grows
by
leaps
and
bounds.
Our
feature
this
month
is
emerging
writer
Chris
Tolian.
Tolian’s
first
appearance
in
The
Divine
Animal
was
last
month
with
his
short
story
Sweetwater’s
Godrush.
This
month
we
present
three
of
his
short
stories,
a
poem
and
a
critical
essay
of
Tolian’s
work
by
John
Yates.
Accompanying
the
feature
are
brilliant
paintings
by
European
artist
Ingrid
Swillens.
In
the
visual
arts
section
we
feature
the
classic
fine
art
photography
of
Peter
J.
Crowley,
erotic
self-portraits
by
Lara
Ellis
and
Siren,
a
photo
essay
by
Emmy
Award-winning
cinematographer
Dustin
M.
Morrow.
In
non-fiction
we
offer
a
stirring
essay
on
the
subject
of
passion
by
photographer
and
writer
Eric
Root.
In
the
poetry
section
we
offer
work
by
multiple
award-winning
poet
Lyn
Lifshin
and
many
other
talented
writers.
A
special
note
of
thanks
and
recognition
goes
out
to
Fred
Ellis
whose
beautiful
and
disarmingly
lucid
photographs
have
graced
our
pages
from
the
first
issue.
His
artistic
contributions
and
moral
support
of
The
Divine
Animal
have
been
priceless.
Fred
retired
from
his
“day
job”
at
the
end
of
February
and
is
now
planning
to
completely
devote
his
time
to
photography.
We
look
forward
to
new
and
exciting
work
from
him.
